Our Purpose and Philosophy
The school is completely non-sectarian/non-discriminatory and
open on a first-come basis to all children of appropriate age
regardless of race, color, sex, religion, cultural heritage, national
origin, political belief, sexual orientation, or marital status of
parents. It operates under a license issued by the Office of Child
Care Services. We are accredited by the NAEYC (National
Association for Education of Young Children).

Our Mission
The goal of the Canal Village School is to provide a safe,
supportive, caring environment in which children may learn
and grow. The staff offers a developmentally appropriate
curriculum which provides children with daily opportunities to
learn through hands-on exploration. We value play as a vital
part of early childhood education. Fostering respect for ourselves
and others through an exploration of the diversity of our world is
an important part of our curriculum. We promote self-confidence,
independence, problem-solving, creativity, accountability,
and responsibility.
